About CAMISS
CAMISS is an acronym for Climate Change Adaptation and Mitigation Initiative in South Sudan. CAMISS is a nascent National Non-Governmental Organization (NNGO) which became registered on the 19th April 2022. Its intentions are literally signified by its acronym.
The main motives of the organization is to respond to global climate related calamities and to its particular impacts in South Sudan.
With this short introductory note, we are appealing to all well-intentioned South Sudanese to join us in nurturing this humane organization. In so doing, all form of positive contributions are highly welcomed and appreciated.
South Sudan
South Sudan, country located in northeastern Africa. Its rich biodiversity includes lush savannas, swamplands, and rainforests that are home to many species of wildlife. Prior to 2011, South Sudan was part of Sudan, its neighbour to the north. South Sudan’s population, predominantly African cultures who tend to adhere to Christian or animist beliefs, was long at odds with Sudan’s largely Muslim and Arab northern government.
