About CAMISS

CAMISS is an acronym for Climate Change Adaptation and Mitigation Initiative in South Sudan. CAMISS is a nascent National Non-Governmental Organization (NNGO) which became registered on the 19th April 2022. Its intentions are literally signified by its acronym.

The main motives of the organization is to respond to global climate related calamities and to its particular impacts in South Sudan.

With this short introductory note, we are appealing to all well-intentioned South Sudanese to join us in nurturing this humane organization. In so doing, all form of positive contributions are highly welcomed and appreciated.

Naturally the subject of climate change adaptation and or mitigation must have affiliation as the impact is universal. Therefore, CAMISS is designed to conduct its activities as a Public Private Sector Partnership (PPP).

It must involve the government affiliated institutions, and the private sector, business and the civil society affiliated organizations.

To this extend, our operation will officially start after having been recognized by the Ministry of Environment and Forestry of the Republic of South Sudan. In every state, therefore, CAMISS project must be introduced to respective governors and to other affiliated institutions for approval and consensus before it established itself and embark into operations.

Not every state will be equally affected by the climate changes, therefore, we shall be operating mainly in affected states.

The following are the vision of and mission for the Climate Change Adaptation and Mitigation Initiative In South Sudan (CAMISS).
